How to Delete Amazon Order History

Amazon has been the leading online retailer when it comes to e-commerce for quite some time now. In fact, anyone who knows what e-commerce is has most definitely heard of Amazon as well. Being the world’s largest online retailer also means there’s no limit to what you can buy off Amazon. It has just about everything, and constantly introduces new modes of shopping to make the whole experience even better and more convenient for its customers.

As someone that has used Amazon to place at least a few orders, you might be aware that once your order has been successfully completed it is displayed in your order history. It is the section of your Amazon account where detailed information about all your purchases is displayed. Additionally, your order history is also used to suggest more products similar to your searches and purchases.

Can you delete Amazon order history?

Well, the answer is one that you will be disappointed with. Amazon does not provide users with the option of deleting their order history. So as of right now, there is no way you can delete your order history from your Amazon account. Amazon keeps the data for business purposes and to be able to justify the revenue of the previous years.

So What Can You Do?

Since deleting order history from your Amazon account is out of the question, what can you do? There are many reasons why people might want to delete a particular order from their history or get rid of their complete purchase history altogether. It could be that you’ve purchased a gift that you want to keep secret from someone that might also use your Amazon account. Or, you might simply not want your purchases to be kept in the order history once they’ve been completed. This need for privacy is more than understandable and here are some workarounds that can be useful to you.

Hide an Order

Hiding an order will hide it from your order history but the order will still show up in the hidden order menu. Here’s how you can do it.

  • Go to your account and select the order history option.
  • Now select the order you want to hide.
  • That’s it you successfully hid the order on Amazon.
  • If you want to see the hidden order list, simply go to your account and click on hidden order menu option.

Archive the Order

Archiving will help you get rid of the order from your dashboard. Here’s how it’s done.

  • Go to your account and select the order history option.
  • Here you can see all placed orders and under order setting option you need to select the archive option.
  • That’s it you successfully archived the order on Amazon.

If these workarounds are not good enough for you or don’t serve your purpose you can try using multiple accounts. Feel like the gift you’re buying for your wedding anniversary might be seen by your spouse in the order history? Use a different account that they do not have access to and ensure that your purchases remain secret.
